I can't tell you how many times on this podcast we've talked about growing your own food,
about how great it would be if people figured out a way to utilize empty spaces in neighborhoods
or a lot on a block and put in a garden.
And then, boom, somebody sent me a link to your TED Talk.
And I said, Ron Finley is on it.
You're on it.
And you've been doing this for a while.
Tell me how you got started in this.
It was real simple.
Ain't no damn food where I live.
You know, so my thing was if it ain't there, you put it there.
It's I mean, I think these neighborhoods are by design.
I think this whole food system is, to me, a form of slavery for everybody.
You know, and I think a lot of people don't get it.
You know, they want to control your life.
And if you control the food, you control the world.
Do you think it's by design where someone set out and said, OK, we want to take these people
and we want to keep them impoverished.
We're going to keep them ignorant and want to keep them in this this cycle of crime and
